Fromuth Teams With IM Able Foundation To Provide Training and Specialized Fitness Equipment To The Disabled

The IM Able Foundation is pleased to announce that Fromuth, a wholesale tennis, running, and fitness distributor located in West Lawn, has signed on as a major supporter of the Organization’s initiatives in helping disabled individuals realize the benefits of physical fitness.  IM Able’s ongoing fundraising activities and events allow the foundation to provide hand-cycles, adaptive skis and instructional training programs for those in need.

Fromuth’s first gesture as a major Foundation sponsor is the purchase and presentation of a specialized handcycle for Eric Kaag, a former Warwick Township  Policeman and U.S. Marine afflicted with AMN (adrenomyeloneuropathy).  AMN is a degenerative, progressive, nerve condition that long term, affects one’s ability to enjoy basic fitness activities such as cycling, skiing, or even walking without the aid of adaptive equipment.

In conjunction with this presentation on October 28, Fromuth is having a “Demo Day” for their employees and staff as a way of creating awareness and internal support of this program.  The day will include an opportunity for everyone at Fromuth to “test-drive” a handcycle by navigating a road course set up in the company’s parking lot.

The handcycle pictured above is a high-tech vehicle powered by the arms rather than the legs, which drive a traditional bicycle. Most handcycles are tricycle in form, with two coasting rear wheels and one steerable powered front wheel.
