What Melissa says!! Oh yeah…it is the Real Deal…! My throat burned for hours after that beatdown! Short but absolutely devastating WOD! But the flood of endorphins that follow is pure bliss! Hah!
I was moved today towards a word that describes something remarkable and yet simple. I should probably back-up a bit, I was perusing a remarkable mathematical equation derived by the Swiss-German mathematician and physicist of the 18th century, Leonhard Euler when the connection was made by my synapses (although after last night I am delighted to find they still fire). Euler’s Identity equation (e^iπ +1=0) is considered one of the greatest equations yet derived, it is highly effective and yet simple. In other words it’s elegant! It uses each of these arithmetic operations exactly once each, addition, multiplication and exponentiation! An elegant solution is one that solves multiple problems at once with unusual effectiveness and simplicity. You are probably thinking what does this have to do with anything, right? Hold on give me some leeway here…Elegance is the “Sickness”, it is highly effective, and yet simple…four basic movements, that combined will delete your glycogen stores, require V02 max effort to complete, raise your heart rate to the Redline, engage every muscle fiber in your being, and leave you a withering heap on the floor, and all in the neighborhood of 10 minutes! True elegance by design, and devastating in its effectiveness! MD you out did yourself, extra helpings of raisin pie all around! Hah!
BTW, this morning at class I briefly saw the “Sickness” board in the corner (by accident, of course). I diverted my gaze immediately, so as not to burn my eyes.
